Main activities

ISBD Korea has engaged in such activities.

  • 1) Monthly Meetings

    • Experts in bipolar disorder and affective disorders assemble to present the latest research results and introduce the latest research trends in monthly meetings, which are held on the evening of the second Monday of every month. Through these monthly meetings, we expand our clinical experiences by sharing and discussing the latest knowledge related to bipolar disorder and affective disorders. These monthly meetings are opened not only to ISBD-K members but also to psychiatric residents and specialists in related fields to participate in various ways.
  • 2) Annual Conference

    • The academic conference is held once a year during the second half of the year. ISBD Korea’s members present their research topics, introduce their latest research results, and share related knowledge. This conference is open to not only members but also psychiatric residents and specialists in related fields.
  • 3) Bipolar Fellowship Program for Young Psychiatrists and Education Program for Psychiatric Residents

    • We operate the “Bipolar Fellowship Program” for young psychiatrists every other year. We help young psychiatrists to develop expertise in bipolar disorder. In addition, we have provided a series of lectures as part of the educational program to enhance the understanding of the bipolar disorder. Videos of the lecture are released on the website.
  • 4) Public Relations and Education for the publics

    • The members of ISBD Korea are striving to extend medical knowledge about bipolar disorder, eliminate prejudice against bipolar disorder, and educate the public with accurate knowledge on bipolar disorder and treatments.
  • 5) Academic exchanges in both the International Society for Bipolar Disorders (ISBD) and East Asian Bipolar Forum (EABF)

    • We participate in the annual academic conference held by the International Society for Bipolar Disorders (ISBD). We exchange academic knowledge with experts in bipolar disorder. The East Asia Bipolar Forum (EABF) is a forum for researchers from five East Asian countries, including Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, which seeks cooperation and joint research. It was launched with the first academic conference in Korea on September 2010. Researchers from five East Asian countries affiliated with ISBD congregate to share the latest findings and knowledge on bipolar disorder.
